Three sisters celebrated their jubilee of profession on May 23, 2026:

Sr. M. Berchmana Neubauer her 70th, Sr. M. Christa Wansch her 65th, and Sr. M. Magdalena Klackl her 60th.

Father Hermann Fink from Augsburg – who has been connected with our religious community for many years – celebrated the festive Holy Mass at 10:00 AM in the monastery chapel of the Motherhouse with several concelebrants. In addition to the sisters, relatives and acquaintances of the jubilarians also participated.

In his sermon, the celebrant referred to the different paths of the jubilarians’ vocations and their professional activities, which nevertheless share a common foundation: the experience of lived faith in the family and in the parish. In their long religious life, the sisters were on their way with the Lord and for the Lord. They filled the word heard in the Gospel about Jesus’ brothers, sisters, and mother (Mark 3:35) with life through the love of their hearts and their joy in serving the Lord.

The music for the service was provided in the usual excellent manner by ARS MUSICA under the direction of Mag. Thomas Dolezal.

During the festive meal, Superior General Sr. M. Birgit Dorfmair thanked the jubilarians and acknowledged their service to the community:

Sr. M. Berchmana worked as a registered nurse in various hospitals; in several convents, she was responsible for the sisters and establishments as superior; for some years, she also served on the General Council of the order’s leadership. Sr. Berchmana is currently in the nursing ward but is mentally very alert and delights everyone with her amiable nature.

Sr. M. Christa was able to apply her diverse talents as a kindergarten teacher and head of the state kindergarten in Seitenstetten; for some time, she was also responsible for the community of sisters. Since 1997, she has continued to manage the “Klaraheim” in Kirchberg am Wechsel with admirable dedication, where priests, religious persons, or religious groups can retreat. Sr. Christa was also a General Councillor. In recent months, she was able to accompany her brother, Prelate Josef Wansch, on his journey to eternal rest.

Sr. M. Magdalena obtained her nursing diploma and worked for many years as an operating room nurse at Hartmannspital (now Franziskusspital Margareten); later, she managed the laundry for the hospital and convent. Despite her advanced age, she is still able to fully participate in the life of the community. With interest and prayer, she accompanies the concerns of the Congregation and the entire universal Church.

In her speech, Sr. M. Birgit also thanked the relatives present for celebrating with them and for accompanying “their” jubilarian.
